Court-Referred Juvenile Anger Management Program
Practical Skills for Safer Choices and Healthier Responses
The Temperantia-KYH Court-Referred Juvenile Program is a structured, evidence-informed psychoeducational intervention for youth ages 12 to 18.
Its current 12-week Juvenile Anger Management track helps adolescents understand what triggers their anger, manage intense emotions, and resolve conflict without aggression or violence. The program is designed for youth referred by juvenile courts, probation departments, schools, parents, or guardians.
At Temperantia-KYH, we believe that “The Heart of Every Problem Is the Problem in the Heart.” Rather than focusing only on consequences, the program helps young people examine the thoughts, emotions, and choices behind their behavior so they can begin developing healthier ways to respond.
A Structured Educational Program for Court-Involved Youth
Young people dealing with anger may not always have the language or tools to explain what they are feeling. Frustration, stress, family conflict, peer pressure, and difficulty controlling impulses can quickly result in fighting, threats, disorderly conduct, or other harmful behavior.
Punishment alone may not teach an adolescent what to do differently the next time conflict occurs.
The Temperantia-KYH Juvenile Anger Management Program provides a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where participants can learn practical cognitive-behavioral skills and take greater responsibility for their choices.
This program is strictly educational and skills-based. It does not provide clinical therapy or replace treatment from a licensed mental health professional.

Supporting Youth, Families, and Referral Professionals
When a young person repeatedly reacts with aggression, everyone involved may feel uncertain about what to do next.
Parents and guardians may worry about their child’s future. Probation officers and court professionals may need a reliable educational program that supports compliance. Schools may need an appropriate intervention before behavior escalates further.
The Temperantia-KYH Juvenile Program offers a structured path forward by helping participants move beyond simply completing a requirement.
The program is designed to support:
- Greater awareness of emotional and behavioral patterns
- More constructive responses to stress and conflict
- Improved accountability for personal choices
- Healthier communication with adults and peers
- Reduced reliance on aggression as a coping response
- Development of practical skills that support long-term prosocial behavior
- Clear participation and completion documentation for authorized referral sources
A Program Focused on Education, Accountability, and Growth
Court involvement can be a difficult experience for young people and their families. Adolescents may enter a program feeling defensive, misunderstood, embarrassed, or resistant.
Temperantia-KYH approaches participants with dignity while maintaining clear expectations for accountability and active participation.
The goal is not to label a young person by their past behavior. It is to help them understand that they can learn new skills, make different choices, and respond to challenges in healthier ways.
